CALUMET, Mich. (WLUC) - Calumet Village is asking for feedback on their master plan. After more than a year of preparation, the plan was released December 16. It is available to adjacent communities, utilities, planning authorities and the general public.
The plan projects short and long term goals over the next 20 years including strategies and deadlines.
"The principle concerns here in the community are infrastructure - our streets and sidewalks need to be repaired and replaced - they are concerned about our blighted buildings. There are vacant buildings in the community that need to be repaired, and there is also a concern for redevelopment in the residential areas," said Calumet Village president Dave Geisler.
The comment period will close mid-February with a public hearing. The master plan is available at mainstreetcalumet.com.
