IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) - The driver in an Iron Mountain pickup truck theft was sentenced Monday in Dickinson County Circuit Court.
Samuel Burgess, 17, pled no contest to one count of unlawful driving away a motor vehicle. He was sentenced to 18 months of probation under the Youthful Holmes Trainee Act. If he shows good behavior, Burgess will not have to serve 3 months jail time. He does have 59 days credited.
Police were called out September 18 when a pickup truck crashed into a power pole. The truck was stolen from the North side of Iron Mountain just before the accident.
Police suspect the Burgess and the passenger, Lucas Schoen used a different truck to damage the North side Baseball Field.
