MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Across the Upper Peninsula, the U.P. Regional Blood Center is in critical need of blood donations. All blood types are needed but the greatest needs are for rarer types such O-, A-, B-, and AB-.
“Every time after the holidays we go into this shortage of blood because people have been too busy or sick to think about giving blood,” said Sallie Coron, Blood Collection Coordinator. “Now that the holidays are over, we hope people start to remember giving blood helps save lives.”
Donations are quick and easy, taking less than an hour at a time. Anyone 17 and older in healthy condition and weight are eligible to donate. For hours and locations to donate, click here.
