ISHPEMING, Mich. (WLUC) - The Be Local Buy Local campaign has a new way to participate. They now have gift cards available. For just a $2.50 fee you can load the cards with any amount of money that can be spent at participating businesses.

The cards can be picked up at the Marquette Chamber of Commerce, the Marquette Food co-op and the Greater Ishpeming Negaunee Chamber of Commerce (GINCC). Chamber of commerce officials say the cards are a great way to make shopping local even easier.

"It's a county wide program and last year it was seasonal but this year it'll be an ongoing thing past the holidays season and it's just a good way to get everybody excited about shopping local and the gift cards make it really easy," said Gabi Kautz Communications & Marketing for the GINCC.

The Be Local Buy Local program also has an app for smartphones. On it you can sign up your business to track sales and much more.
