HANCOCK, Mich. (WLUC) - Registration is open for summer art classes at Copper Country Community Arts Center in Hancock. Classes are open for both kids and adults. A summer art camp is offered for third through fifth graders. Free classes are available for eighth through twelfth graders. Classes include drawing, painting, clay, letter press, creative writing and more.
A new metal smithing class is available this year as well.
"That is taught by one of the Finlandia instructors here in town, Tobias Dawson. He is actually offering two sessions of lost wax bronze casting and then two sessions of introductory metal casting as well," said CCCAC assistant director Bonnie Loukus.
Registration deadlines are one week before class begins. Those who register two weeks or more in advance receive a discount.
