MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - With Hurricane Irma’s massive impact on the Caribbean, some travel plans are in disarray. Those traveling to the southern parts, such as Jamaica or Barbados are mostly unaffected. Islands in the eastern part of the Caribbean were hit the worst.

If you have travel insurance, you should be getting a refund on your trip. Those who don’t have travel insurance aren’t completely out of luck either.

“I do have some clients without travel insurance. The airlines are refunding many airline ticket portions. You know, with resorts what we're doing with clients who don't have insurance is kind of begging and pleading for them to please do something, and I'm assuming and hoping most of them will,” said Laura Chapman, Owner of Holiday Travel Vacations.

If you have a vacation planned in the Caribbean, the best course of action would be to contact the booking agency you went through.
