The Peter White Public Library invites film fans to enjoy a bring your own dinner movie event on Tuesday, October 17, for a screening of the 2016 film Norman at 6:00 pm in the library’s community room.

Mediocre shyster Norman Oppenheimer is a fixer—he does the jobs that other don’t want to do. At a low point in his life, he befriends a young politician who later becomes an influential world leader. While it appears that Norman’s star is rising, it is also true that his success has put him under greater scrutiny. Starring Richard Gere, Lior Ashkenazi and Michael Sheen, this dramatic thriller is rated R and runs 1 hour and 58 minutes.

Matinee Movie--Going in Style

On Tuesday, October 17, at 12:30 pm, the Peter White Public Library will show the 2017 film, Going in Style, in the library’s community room as part of its Matinee Movie series. Bring your own lunch and enjoy the movie in a dinner theater setting. Closed captioning will be on to ensure access for all.

A remake of the 1979 movie, Going in Style focuses on three seniors, life-long friends, who have come upon hard times when the company they have worked for decides to cheat them out of their retirement pensions. Fed up with banks and big corporations, they decide to get what is theirs by robbing a bank, enlisting the aid of a felon since none of them even know how to handle a gun. Starring Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin, this comedy is rated PG-13 and runs 1 hour 36 minutes.
