Sci-Fi on Tap: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Event Dates and Times

2/21/2018 - Starts: 7:00 PM - Ends: 9:00 PM
Ore Dock Brewing Company, Marquette MI
On Wednesday, February 21 at 7:00 pm, the Peter White Public Library will be hosting a meeting of its book club, Sci-Fi on Tap, at the Ore Dock Brewing Company.

This month, the group will discuss The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Just before the earth is destroyed to make room for a galactic highway, Arthur Dent is rescued by Ford Prefect, a researcher for the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. What ensues is a journey through space, supported by a galaxy of friends and guided by quotes from the guide.

The meeting will be in the Tap Room, so look for a PWPL Sci-Fi on Tap sign. Come to the club, enjoy a beer, and express your thoughts on this novel. There is no admission charge to attend. For more information, visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.

Career and Technical Education Month

Event Dates and Times

2/1/2018 - 2/28/2018
Nationwide
Career and Technical Education Month®, or CTE Month®, is a public awareness campaign taking place each February to celebrate the value of CTE and the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs across the country.

One way we are celebrating CTE month in Marquette and Alger Counties this February is by recognizing teachers, students, individuals and community organizations who enhance CTE by contributing to the improvement, promotion, development, quality and progress of CTE. The Marquette Alger CTE committee, whose main focus is helping young people make the best possible career decisions, is sponsoring these awards. In addition to the aforementioned categories, students presenting the best showcase display and poster design at their schools will also be recognized.

Watch and listen for more information and contests throughout the month, and beyond, on Facebook, Twitter and other media outlets. https://www.facebook.com/ctemarquettealger/
