ISHPEMING -- The Ishpeming Police Department is reminding residents that the winter parking ban is in effect as of Sunday, November 1.
However, until there is a significant amount of snowfall that requires the use of city snowplows, the ban will not be enforced immediately; but once the snow starts piling up, officers will begin issue tickets to violators.
That means all vehicles need to be off city streets between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. in the outlying areas, and between 2:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. in the downtown area.
