MARQUETTE -- Pizza makers and delivery drivers were hard at work on Halloween to get ready for one of the busiest pizza selling days of the year.
At Pizza Hut in Marquette, the day got off to a slow start, but employees were ready to accommodate a big rush in the evening.
"I'm actually expecting it to be a little slower than normal. It'll probably pick up a little after the trick or treating is over with," said shift supervisor Jeremy Sheckell. "We're trying to motivate the staff to make sure that we're all willing to step in when the drivers are out on their deliveries. It's typically where we see the most of our business."
Halloween ranks as the third busiest day of the year for pizza sales, falling behind Super Bowl Sunday and New Year's Eve.
