ESCANABA -- One local drama student took flight for the first time Friday afternoon, while sitting in a lawn chair.
Friday, Bay College drama students got a lesson in special effects, as they prepare for their upcoming musical, Flight of the Lawnchair Man.
The department brought in a specialist out of Illinois to teach the students. The musical director said this is the first time in Bay's history, they've been able to incorporate flight into an act.
"It's very exciting, so energetic," said Crystal Dwyer, Theater Director. "We're all a little tired after seven weeks of rehearsals, but having the special effects people here to help us is making it all worthwhile. Doing a production like Flight of the Lawnchair Man is a great way to showcase what we have."
Officials say it'll take about two days of training to get everything figured out.
The play runs from November 5-8.
