Cloverland Electric Cooperative reports wide-spread outages

Cloverland Electric Cooperative reports numerous power outages throughout its service area. Cloverland line crews began responding to outage calls this morning as winds up to 45 mph swept through the area. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory until 8 p.m. this evening for Mackinac County.

Approximately 1,100 Cloverland Electric Cooperative services are without power as of 5 p.m. on  Monday, September 24. The majority of outages are in the St. Ignace, Pickford, DeTour Village, Manistique, Cooks, Garden, Naubinway, Trout Lake, Cedarville and Moran areas. Damage consists of downed lines, broken poles and trees on lines.

Cloverland crews will continue working throughout the evening to restore electric service. Due to the number of outages, power may not be restored in all locations until sometime late tonight or tomorrow.

Cloverland Electric Cooperative reminds everyone to stay away from downed power lines. Assume that any power line remains energized. To report power outages and electrical emergencies, such as downed lines and trees on lines, call Cloverland Electric Cooperative at 1-800-562-4953.
