Mike Bedard

School: University of New York at Cortland
Hometown: Buffalo, NY

Mike Bedard joined TV6 in March 2008 as the weekend sports anchor/reporter. A native of Buffalo, NY, Mike is no stranger to the winter conditions up here in the U.P.

Before coming to TV6, Mike graduated from the State University of New York at Cortland in 2005 with a degree in Sport Management. In 2007 he received a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University. During his school days, Mike completed internships at WKBW-TV in Buffalo, NY under the voice of the Buffalo Bills, John Murphy and WKTV in Utica, NY in the sports department. As part of his curriculum at Syracuse, Mike worked as a free lance sports reporter in Washington D.C. in the summer of 2007, airing stories across the country for the Nexstar Broadcasting Corporation.

In his free time, Mike really enjoys following his favorite teams. His passion for his Buffalo Sabres and Bills boarder’s on insane. Mike also is a huge Toronto Blue Jays, Notre Dame Football and Syracuse University Basketball fan. In the small time he’s away from sports television, Mike likes to run, play senior hockey, hang out with friends from Cortland, the Kenmore Krew and the 'Cuse Crew and watch every show on the A&E network. Mike is very excited to be in the U.P. and can’t wait to participate in all the outdoor activities the region has to offer!
