Emily, a South Carolina native--raised in the small coastal town of Georgetown, joined the TV6 news team in April 2007 as a News Reporter. Emily graduated from the University of South Carolina in December 2006, where she earned her BA degree in broadcast journalism. While at USC, she worked as a reporter, anchor, and producer for their daily student-produced newscast, Carolina News. Emily also interned at TV33 in Myrtle Beach, where she had her first opportunity as an on-air reporter.
Emily has always enjoyed writing, has a passion for the performing arts, and loves getting to know different people. She believes that being a reporter is the perfect combination of all three.
Having not seen snow in years, Emily is excited to be working and reporting in the U.P., a much different climate and area than the East coast. She is looking forward to exploring the U.P. and trying all the various outdoor sports. Emily can't wait to learn to ski, and hopes by the end of next winter, she'll have it mastered.
Emily would like to thank her parents, family, and friends for their continued support and love.
