Jerry Hume

Jerry is no stranger to the Upper Peninsula or TV6. He was born in Marquette, graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Northern Michigan University. Jerry graduated Summa Cum Laude from N.M.U. with a bachelor degree in electronic journalism. While at Northern he spent a big part of his time at WNMU-TV. He was the anchor for their daily student-produced newscast, Public Eye News. Jerry was a part of the newscast's streak of awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. He also received an MAB for his reporting on the show.

Before becoming a reporter, Jerry was a production assistant, producer, and news videographer at TV6. He started as a production assistant in 2003. Among other tasks, he operated cameras for the newscasts and edited Top Stories of the Week. In 2005 Jerry was promoted to Morning News Associate Producer. In this position he helped produce the broadcast and was also a morning videographer. Jerry's covered numerous stories for TV6, including a gun standoff with police, a rabbit who saved a family from a fire, plenty of high profile court cases, and of course snow storms.

In his free time, Jerry likes to spend time with his family, especially his five nieces. He also enjoys going to his camp on the Dead River, swimming, and watching his favorite show on TV6, Regis and Kelly.
