Shawn Householder joined the TV6 Weather Team in February, 2013. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies from West Virginia University in 2009. He is currently in his final semester at Mississippi State University and will earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geo-science with an emphasis on Broadcast Meteorology in May, 2013.
Hailing from The Mountain State, Shawn is no stranger to the outdoors. During his free time Shawn enjoys hiking the trails with his beloved German Shepherd, Achilles. He also enjoys bicycling, boating & other outdoor activities. He was a member of the WVU Men's Rowing Crew and spent several seasons as a whitewater rafting guide on the Cheat River. Shawn also enjoys helping others in need. He has participated in several successful search & rescue operations in his home state of West Virginia and loves to connect people with homeless pets!
Shawn's love of weather comes from his all-around love of nature and the outdoors. He is honored to be part of the TV6 Weather Team and is looking forward to learning more about the history, geography, weather and climatology that makes the U.P. so special!
